Habitat of Nodaway County accepts donation from Today’s Civic Women



Today’s Civic Women presented a donation of $500 today to Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County. 
 
Habitat was one of two local organizations to receive the donation from proceeds of Today’s Civic Women’s lemonade stand at the Nodaway County Fair.

Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County accepts donation from regional FCCLA group

Board members representing Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County today accepted a donation of $373 from Region 1 of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).  Region 1 officers chose to support Habitat for Humanity because the organization matches the ideals and values of FCCLA by supporting communities and families in need through home construction.  The money gifted to Habitat was raised during FCCLA’s fall regional meeting, where members of Region 1 passed buckets in a “Miracle Minute” race to raise funds by donating change. Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County dedicates home for 15th partner family

Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County celebrated the new owners of its 13th home during a dedication ceremony. The home at 123 S. Mulberry St. in Maryville, now belongs to the Hilary Steinman family. Steinman took ownership of a 1,340-square-foot home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, constructed in partnership with the building trades program at the Northwest Technical School in Maryville. In addition to receiving the keys to their new home, the Steinman family received a collection of gifts that included a Bible and other books from the Optimist Club of Maryville, Today’s Civic Women of Maryville, the Maryville Garden Club and the United Methodist Quilters. Steinman purchased the home with a zero-interest loan as Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County, a non-profit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and invites people from all walks of life to work in partnership to build houses with individuals and families in need.
